Electrify Your Strings is a music education phenomenon that fires up students, teachers, and communities by injecting a high voltage dose of energy and much-needed funding into a school's music education program. Created by international recording artist, electric violinist, and music education advocate, Mark Wood, Electrify Your Strings connects students, teachers, and administrators to the vibrancy of music in an unforgettable experience culminating in a live concert. This intensive experience boosts the student’s self-esteem and motivation, increases school, family and community engagement. The best part, proceeds from tickets sold to the concerts directly benefit the orchestra departments at all BISD schools.
More than 360 Boerne ISD orchestra students from Boerne High School, Champion High School, Boerne Middle School North and Boerne Middle School South will have the opportunity of a lifetime when they learn from and perform with EYS artist mentor, Bridgid Bibbens. The concerts will feature Mark Wood’s original music and exclusive arrangements of Queen’s “We Will Rock You”, Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida”, Kansas’ “Carry On My Wayward Son” and your favorite Christmas songs, “Joy To The World”, “Oh Come All Ye Faithful”, “Hark The Harold Angels Sing”, “O Holy Night”, Wizards in Winter" and “Carol Of The Bells”.
Bridgid Bibbens is one of the most sought-after and recognizable electric and acoustic violinists in the United States. She has preformed with major artists in the rock, pop and jazz worlds including Christina Aguilera, Jay-Z, Robin Thicke, John Mayer, Josh Groban, Harry Connick Jr. and The Trans-Siberian Orchestra. She travels the country with her Viper, sharing her passion for music of all genres with orchestra students in schools all over the United States.
